Hansen's Hideaway
With a heavy heart we must announce that Hansen's Hideaway was burned down in the
Cedar fire on Tuesday, October 28, 2003.
We wish to thank all our friends and patrons over the years, and thank all who have
expressed their concern. We are also thankful for the firefighters that worked so hard to
save what they could.
This is a difficult time for our family, as this cabin has been a part of our family for over
30 years. It has seen marriage proposals, honeymoons, birthday parties, and holiday gatherings.
We've been snowed in, eaten way too much apple pie, and shared special times together, just
as many of our guests have. The cabin was also a special tie to Iris Hansen, wife, mother,
and grandmother, as it was her special place in the mountains, and this Thanksgiving marks
the 10th anniversary of her passing.
October 2008 marked the passing of Grant Hansen, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather,
war veteran, patriot in military and civil service.
It will take time for things to be sorted out.
Finally, we present to you our media page. Here you will find both the
beauty and serenity of what was as well as the depressing images after the fire, and pictures of the rebuilding.
Sincerely,
The Hansens
