Hansen's Hideaway

My family enjoyed our stay here very much. It's easy to find, private, has amazing views of Lake Cuyamaca and abundant wildlife. Our grandchildren loved playing all the games in the walkout basement. We spent a lot of time at the lake park which has a daily fee to enter ( $5.00 for seniors per car) which gives you access to play equipment plus you can walk across the Eastern earthen dam to the Island for hiking. The Eagle Mine tour was a fun outing where you can pan for real gold and walk a good distance inside. Also, the Miners Diner in Julian was a treat for delicious shakes plus it has a fun candy mine. Pizza at the brewery is always fun too. Julian has many other shops and restaurants plus don't forget the PIE! We picked up our pizza and took it to the lake to picnic. If you are a foodie and prefer to cook your own meals you will want to bring your favorite spices as only salt and pepper are provided. We highly recommend this beautiful home and plan to return in the future.

The house sits in a great location with amazing views of lake, mountains, and stars. The place was very clean, offers privacy and a cozy interior, has really comfortable beds/mattresses, and was even nicely decorated for the Christmas holidays. The kitchen has everything you need, even for some more involved meals/dinners. The living room has a square couch table large enough for my two adult sons and I to spread out our more intricate board games. And we definitely had a blast in the "man cave" with its extra TV, pool table, air hockey table, table foosball, card table, and chess/checkers table. Lori is an amazing host, provided very clear instructions, is very easy to communicate with, and was always quick with her responses. We simply had a great time and would certainly love to come back. Absolutely recommend this place, especially for a family getaway with fun and games!

We had such a magnificent stay over Memorial Day weekend. The cabin was perfectly suited to our needs and offered the most beautiful views of the lake! The game room and bunk beds were delightful for our two small children and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook all our meals. Everything was spot on and exactly what we were looking for - from the peaceful, quiet location to the plentiful comfy beds and gorgeous claw foot bathtub. We’d be delighted to come back again. We really enjoyed our stay, I would 100% recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a peaceful place to stay. It’s in the perfect location, close to the lake and only 15 minutes from the town. The home had beautiful views, very private , clean and there were clear instructions throughout the home. There is also a downstairs filled with games, which we really enjoyed. We plan on coming back and making it our regular place to stay when coming to Julian !
